Dr. Megan Fromm defined culture identity as the identity or feeling of belonging to a group. Through this workshop, participants learned the different ways of creating an identity and the relation between media and culture identity. She also gave several case studies as an example of the role media plays in shaping and painting cultural identities.

Megan Fromm, PhD, is an assistant professor at Colorado Mesa University and faculty for the Salzburg Academy on Media & Global Change, a summer study abroad program. She is also the Educational Initiatives Director for the Journalism Education Association. Her work and teaching centers on media education, scholastic journalism, media literacy and media and democracy.
