How do we measure and assess beauty? Why do beauty standards differ from one society to another? Sarah Mallat answered the proposed questions based on two major social theories in which we build our perception of beauty and success and failure on during MDLAB 2014.
The lecture also touched on how women and men are represented media and the effects of such representation on media consumers. Mallat also included an explanation of the marginalization of women in the media and the lack of adequate presence of women in the media and the relationship between their lack of presence and the business sector
